Welcome back. I hope everyone had a Blessed Holiday break. There was so much information that was shared at this past meeting.  We voted for our current officers. Congratulations to you all! Starting in Febuary we will be collecting membership dues. At our Febuary meeting we will hand out an application. Hopefully, by the end of the month we will have our paper work in order through the state. We decided on a date for the Buddy Walk, which will be 10-24-09 at Ponder Park. We need your support to make this a huge success. Please, continue to check the website for updates and events. Thank you!

Our November meeting took place on the 18h. We welcomed a guest speaker from the Special Olympics. Bea Esparza informed us about the Special Olympics and what it entails. This was very informative and a great time for our organization. We did not have a meeting in the month of December due to the holidays. We will resume in January. Our next meeting should be posted within the next week. Our organization has grown tremendously that we will no longer be calling families regarding meetings. All of the information will be posted on the website. If, you have any questions or concerns please call Ginny or Alice. Our contact information can also, be found on the website. I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and are starting off the New Year with a bang. I can’t wait to see all of the families in January.

This past Saturday we had a booth at ECI’s annual Stroller-a-thon. We had a blast and welcomed many new families. Many of our families were on hand helping us give out flyers and awareness ribbons. It is extremely important that we inform our community of our existence and make it known that we are available for families of these beautiful children. After the event Alice and I met with the Elisces family and offered our services. They are proud parents of Gabriel who is about 1 week old. Let me tell you all how gorgeous and precious this baby is. He is truly an ANGEL. Congrats!!

Our September meeting was a blast. We welcomed 2 more families! We once again shared stories and discussed what we need to do as an organization to education our community as well as the medical community of our existence. Over the next few months we will be putting together informational packets and giving them a variety of offices and hospitals throughout the city. Of course, in order for this to become a reality we need the help of our families.  This Saturday (9-27-08) will be at Ascarate Park for ECI’s stroller-a-thon. We will be there about 9:15 am to set up. You can sign up and pay $10.00 the day of. Just to clarify…the $10 will be going towards a t-shirt for the participants. You do not need to pay if you do not want a shirt. However, the money goes to an emergency fund to help pay for services to families who can not afford it. Hope to see all our families there and wearing their awareness ribbons that we made and slaved over at our last meeting:)

Great News! We will be having a booth at this year’s Stroller-A-Thon. We need your help to increase our awareness! Please, come by and help ECI with this worthy cause. ECI is a wonderful organization that provides many different services for children under the age of 3. I know that without the help ECI my son would not have be doing the things that he is. Please, fill out an entry form and we will see you then!
